Among Yorkshire’s recent Olympic torchbearers was ultra-marathon champion Andy McMenemy who raised £450,000 for charity last year with his amazing 66 consecutive marathons in as many days.
Andy, 51, who lives in Harrogate, is known for his gritty determination, and one of his current ambitions is to help Yorkshire businesses burn more brightly, and triumph over the challenges of the recession.
Andy completed his ultra-marathon challenge, despite running in severe pain for 18 days with a torn Achilles tendon. He will share his experience when he discusses “Mental Toughness” strategies for overcoming the pain of tough conditions at the Be World Class business conference at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on October 25.
